Recommitment

Saturday, February 27, 2016

You had New Year's resolutions, right? How are you doing?

Gym reports show that it's typically around February or March when gym attendance decreases drastically.
NOW is the time to recommit and refocus
________________________________
It's so easy to lose sight of your goals. Life happens. You get busy. You get tired. This is why you need a reminder of your why.
__________________________________
What has taken priority in your life that has allowed you to let your self, your health, and your freedom take a backseat?
What do you spend most of your time doing?

It's time to remember why you chose to change.
It's time to remember why you decided to commit in the first place.
It's time to remember who you're impacting.
It's time to remember what you're missing out on.
It's time to remember that you're worth it.

Now how do we get refocused & recommitted (before the Summer panic-season hits)

Let's start at the beginning...

  1. Think about what goals you established on December 31st.
  2. How can we alter the way to reach them so that they can stick?
  3. Remember what happened that made you fall off the wagon the first time and learn from those setbacks.
  4. Establish a plan, allow yourself grace, make the journey fun....remember this journey is just a cha-cha!

                              Let's look at your calendar:
pencil in your workouts
set time to grocery shop
set time to meal prep
set time daily to focus on personal development
set time to check in with accountability

Let's remember to.....
  1. focus on sleep, eating clean, drinking enough water, and exercising.
  2. get your friends and family on board. They don't have to be making the changes you are, but they have to be understanding of what you've committed to and help you along the way
  3. reassess your commitments. Think about what you might need to say no to in order to reach your goals. Remember that sometimes saying no to good things is a good thing.
  4. reset goals to make them measurable, realistic, and specific
  5. find accountability and be honest with them
  6. find something you can use as a reward (that's not food)
  7. create 'your why' and remember it every single day

Now that you've jumped back on the bandwagon, ask yourself:

Am I tracking my progress?

Do I have a meal plan?
Am I giving myself grace?
Am I being honest with my accountability?

If you'd like to join a challenge group, we'd love to have you.

It's the comfortable place that I'm able to have honest accountability and keeps me going making daily changes, one step at a time.

Two Minute Chocolate Mug "Cake"

Friday, February 12, 2016

What you need:
-1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 scoop of chocolate Shakeology (I prefer vegan)
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- dash of salt
- optional: 1 tsp almond butter
- optional: 1 tbsp of stevia or vanilla, almond, peppermint extract

Instructions:

In a mug, mix baking powder, Shakeology, salt, and (the optional) sweeter.
Then, mix in the egg and milk. Mix well.
(If you're adding almond butter, add teaspoon of almond butter into the middle of mixture.)
Microwave for 90 seconds.

You'll know it's done because the "cake" won't be attached the sides of mug - just like when you test a cake to see if it's ready, the fork should lift right out.

Enjoy (and rethink how you consume that Shakeology on a daily basis)!

For the 21 Day Fix, it's considered 1.5 red without the almond butter.

The Benefits of Bulletproof Coffee

Monday, January 25, 2016

Okay, I know, I know, for years, there have always been "diet" fads, from certain pills, to certain times of day we should eat, to fake sugars, to fat fighters, there is always something on the market for you to jump on to either get healthier, or lose weight....or both.

But, I want you to hear me out. I believe that eating REAL food is the best way to be your healthiest. Yes, this sometimes includes fats...real fats. Not Hershey Kisses-fats, real fats, like from avocado or (REAL) butter.

I know what you're thinking...this girl is a health coach who helps people lose weight but she's advocating eating high-caloric fats. YEP.

What are the benefits of Bulletproof Coffee?
Business Exec & entrepreneur, David Asprey coined the term, "bulletproof". Once he began putting butter in his coffee, Asprey noticed that his moods were more regulated, he didn't have caffeine jitters, and his energy levels were better than ever.

So, what's the trick here? Grass-fed butter. It's filled with healthy fats and healthy doses of vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin K2, vitamin D, and vitamin E. Once I tried it for myself, not only was I hooked because how it sustained me for the day, but it is DELISH. The butter seems to combat the energy spike that often happens with my morning cup of joe and it left me feeling full.

What you need:

8 oz black coffee
1-2 tbsp unsalted grass-fed butter
2 tsp coconut oil or MCT oil

Put it all in a blender....

Viola. Frothy delicious healthy enriched coffee to start your day.

Try it for yourself and tell me what you think.
