Recommitment

Saturday, February 27, 2016

You had New Year's resolutions, right? How are you doing?

Gym reports show that it's typically around February or March when gym attendance decreases drastically.
NOW is the time to recommit and refocus
________________________________
It's so easy to lose sight of your goals. Life happens. You get busy. You get tired. This is why you need a reminder of your why.
__________________________________
What has taken priority in your life that has allowed you to let your self, your health, and your freedom take a backseat?
What do you spend most of your time doing?

It's time to remember why you chose to change.
It's time to remember why you decided to commit in the first place.
It's time to remember who you're impacting.
It's time to remember what you're missing out on.
It's time to remember that you're worth it.

Now how do we get refocused & recommitted (before the Summer panic-season hits)

Let's start at the beginning...

  1. Think about what goals you established on December 31st.
  2. How can we alter the way to reach them so that they can stick?
  3. Remember what happened that made you fall off the wagon the first time and learn from those setbacks.
  4. Establish a plan, allow yourself grace, make the journey fun....remember this journey is just a cha-cha!

                              Let's look at your calendar:
pencil in your workouts
set time to grocery shop
set time to meal prep
set time daily to focus on personal development
set time to check in with accountability

Let's remember to.....
  1. focus on sleep, eating clean, drinking enough water, and exercising.
  2. get your friends and family on board. They don't have to be making the changes you are, but they have to be understanding of what you've committed to and help you along the way
  3. reassess your commitments. Think about what you might need to say no to in order to reach your goals. Remember that sometimes saying no to good things is a good thing.
  4. reset goals to make them measurable, realistic, and specific
  5. find accountability and be honest with them
  6. find something you can use as a reward (that's not food)
  7. create 'your why' and remember it every single day

Now that you've jumped back on the bandwagon, ask yourself:

Am I tracking my progress?

Do I have a meal plan?
Am I giving myself grace?
Am I being honest with my accountability?

If you'd like to join a challenge group, we'd love to have you.

It's the comfortable place that I'm able to have honest accountability and keeps me going making daily changes, one step at a time.

Two Minute Chocolate Mug "Cake"

Friday, February 12, 2016

What you need:
-1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 scoop of chocolate Shakeology (I prefer vegan)
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- dash of salt
- optional: 1 tsp almond butter
- optional: 1 tbsp of stevia or vanilla, almond, peppermint extract

Instructions:

In a mug, mix baking powder, Shakeology, salt, and (the optional) sweeter.
Then, mix in the egg and milk. Mix well.
(If you're adding almond butter, add teaspoon of almond butter into the middle of mixture.)
Microwave for 90 seconds.

You'll know it's done because the "cake" won't be attached the sides of mug - just like when you test a cake to see if it's ready, the fork should lift right out.

Enjoy (and rethink how you consume that Shakeology on a daily basis)!

For the 21 Day Fix, it's considered 1.5 red without the almond butter.
